In The Know

The weather was chilly the evening I photographed this family. We walked through the yard, played with some toys, she snuggled with Mommy and Daddy and they followed at a small distance, allowing her to roam and explore.

When photographing a small child, the best photos are the ones that aren’t staged (rather set up and then allowed to take their course). This creates an atmosphere of relaxation and candid moments. This little girl was full of imagination and curiosity and as I followed her, I was able to capture her being herself, which is a wonderful gift for the future. Photos her parents will look at over and over as she grows and changes, the images growing more valuable with time.

This family has two adorable girls. Each is beautifully unique, with their own distinct personalities and lovely look. It was such fun to watch each one as they played and snuggled their parents. Both girls were very sweet and friendly. As soon as I arrived, the youngest immediately came to greet me and hugged my leg. It was great meeting you all and I am so happy I was able to capture this time for your family!

This sweet little guy actually got a session on his real birthday. Two years old already, and running around now. Last time I photographed him, he was a baby, just taking a few toddling steps, a few little teeth in his smile. Now he’s having conversations with his parents, asking questions, rolling a ball, exploring. It’s amazing what a year can do. Happy 2nd Birthday little buddy! We had fun!

A couple years ago I photographed the oldest daughter of this family at the same age that her younger sister is now. Their own personalities and distinctive looks are present, but it’s obvious they are sisters, with their big blue eyes and toothy smiles. It’s so interesting to watch the two girls interact. Their parents were eager to photograph the girls together and I was able to capture series of interactions. Kisses, hugs, playing with the cat or a big Autumn leaf all created mini stories throughout the session. Thanks again for the fun session!

This little boy was a treat to photograph! Being so verbal and curious, as well as stunningly photogenic, made for a tremendous mix of breathtaking early morning shots by the lake, and adorable expressions. This mommy and her son were able to take a morning together (with Nanny along to help with snacks, clothing changes and distractions), that we captured for the rest of their lives. Thank you for agreeing to meet me so early, being flexible with your busy schedule and for truly being a pleasure to work with!
